The neighborhood, as the first social space in which individuals reside, plays a vital role in shaping the spirit of sociability. The impact of the physical structure of neighborhoods on creating sociability or other qualities can be examined through studying the relationships between the mass and the spatial and matching them with observation and interviews with individuals. The harmony created by the combination of the mass and space in neighborhood directly affects on residents and passersby, encouraging them to coordinate and align with itself and becoming part of this harmonious space. The resulting feeling in individuals is actually the function of the forces emitted from this combination, and it is the art of designer that can utilize these emitted forces from the environment in the desired direction, whether it be attracting a population to a space or controlling access to it
Therefore, with the aim of understanding the combination of mass and space and identifying the forces emitted from it, we can use the design of traditional neighborhoods in new neighborhoods or residential complexes to beside contextualization, can be utilized the qualities which were created in them to address the problems of modern neighborhoods. Even more, giving them an identity to increase social interactions and create a sense of belonging to the neighborhood.
